What are straw straws made of?
We use grain stalks and turn them into usable products: drinking straws! After every harvest around the world, stems of cereal plants are left behind as agricultural waste. To make our natural straw straws, these stems are collected, cut by hand, and sterilised – ready to be served with your cocktails and juices!
About our product
How do you make them?
After harvesting cereal plants for food, the remaining stalks are collected and handcut into drinking straws. The straws are cleaned with sterilising methods using hot water. No chemicals or bleach involved.
Are they suitable for all drinks?
These eco friendly straws are suitable for hot and cold drinks, juices, water, lemonades, cocktails and more. But because of the narrow diameter that varies between 3 - 7 mm, drinking milkshakes and smoothies will be a lot harder through these straws. Therefore we would not recommend them for drinks with a thick structure.
What happens if your straws end up in the environment?
Our question to you would be: What happens if a plant ends up in the environment? These straws are fully natural, therefore not harmful.
How long does it take before the straws biodegrade?
That depends on environmental factors: wind, water, temperature and ground. As they are fully biodegradable and compostable without the need of industrial installations, they won't harm the nature but instead serve as nutrients.
NO MORE PLASTIC DISPOSABLES. EVER. AGAIN.
Every day we use millions of plastic disposables around the globe. Why continue with that when there are millions of straws growing in the nature every year?
